So glad to finally be finished with Aria’s nursery and I absolutely love how it turned out!!! It is by far my favorite of all of the rooms that I have ever been in. Mikey and I both sometimes go in there randomly and take a nap haha! It’s so peaceful and cozy. From the moment we found out that we were having a little baby girl, I have had this picture in my mind of a lavender, gray, white nursery. Purple is the best color ever so it had to be! Her crib sheets were the first item that I picked out and I just went from there!
Choosing the colors for the furniture was probably the hardest. I really wanted white but I thought that if we had a boy next I wouldn’t want a white crib and I may want to re-use the same crib. So I went with gray! (If you’ve ever visited our home before, you can definitely tell that we love gray, and like I always say, “gray is the new black” haha…it was sort of inevitable). Gray isn’t always the happiest color in the world so I though that it would be fun to have the furniture on one side of the room be one shade of gray and the furniture on the other side of the room be another! The gray crib that I chose is a darker gray so the rest of the furniture had to be lighter! I found a really cute paint color at Home Depot called Castle Rock and I’m still in love with! To go with it, and of course those crib sheets that originally paved the way, I chose these knobs at Home Depot for about $2 a piece as well:
Everything else was all about color, organization, usefulness, and good reviews!

- The only lavender bed skirt I could find anywhere! Luckily it matched perfectly:
Swaddle from T.J. Maxx
Next to the crib is a lavender laundry basket that we purchased from HomeGoods for $16.99 and a silver lamp from Target that I have always had.
The lavender and white rug is also from Target!

Stork Craft Tuscany Glider — We bought this glider at a garage sale in Glenview from a guy that loved us and was making a killing selling all of his stuff for ONLY $5, we then painted it the “Castle Rock” color that we found, and I recovered the cushions!
Hanging pom poms DIY coming soon!

Sauder Beginnings Dresser — Also painted with “Castle Rock,” and complete with new knobs!
Levana Ayden Digital Video Baby Monitor –This has to be one of the coolest things in the room! I can play different lullabies from the monitor so that Aria can hear them from the camera in her room. It also lets you know the room temperature, you can talk to your baby (or to whoever’s turn it is to check up onbaby in their room), the base is perfect for mounting on a wall, and you can connect multiple cameras to one monitor. I chose to go this route in monitors because of all of these things plus being able to see our baby will lessen my worries, the monitor is separate from my phone so I won’t kill my phone battery, it doesn’t connect to our Wi-Fi so no one can hack into it, and it’s not too expensive and has great reviews!

Bins and baskets are going to be my new best friends! Arias closet and dresser are pretty organized but I feel like after a while things may get a little hectic.
I posted this video of some phenomenal baby closet organization done by the nice lady from Do It On Dime on my Facebook page a while back:
I got three of those nifty baskets for Aria’s jammies — sorted them out by 0-3 month and 3 month, 3-6 month and 6 month, and bunched together the few 9, 12, and 18 month ones that we have in one. I was going to do the dollar pop up bins for all of her onesies and pants but I decided to just put them in her dresser. I may use these cute little white baskets that I also found at the dollar store to organize the inside of the dresser some more.
We purchased this bin from Target, and it was s steal too! 17 gallons and only $7.99!!! I want to put all of her stuffed animals in there. Also from Target and at a great price is the plastic drawers in her closet. In the top thinner drawer I put her socks and bows, the next drawer has all of her shoes, and the bottom larger drawers are Legos and toys. We need to find a big storage ottoman or coffee table for our living room so that she can have another place for toys in the family area — especially the big super fun toys like the zoo that I stuffed on the top shelf of her closet.
And now I need to find another BIG task to tackle. In between doing Aria’s room, I redecorated our kitchen a little bit and our main bathroom. Oh! I still need to decorate her wooden “A” and either hang it on her door or make a collage next to the closet!!! I also maybe need to have Mikey mount my little 22″ Vizo TV on the wall — it would be awesome to play some nighttime programs for baby in there before she falls to sleep sometimes! So I guess we aren’t completely finished. Then maybe I’ll spruce up our bedroom next — a serious case of “nesting?” I think so! Hehe. Later this week I’ll share how I made the hanging puff balls that are above the rocking chair!!!
