Now that I’m not as on edge with worry I can better multitask and write this! Hahaha!!!
I must say, I would have never imagined that becoming a mother would be as wonderful as it has been. Even when Aria wants to be fussy when I want to sleep I can’t help but pick her up and kiss her on her head a million times as I forget that we purchased an amazing baby swing and rock her in my arms for what seems like hours.
If you don’t follow me anywhere else, Aria Brooke Schneider was born October 24th at 3:22 AM after about 3 hours of labor, weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz.! When we went into Labor & Delivery I was 6 cm dilated! Everything happened so fast that I don’t even remember most of the details haha. Aria surpassed her birth weight at her 2 week appointment so pump feeding has been more successful than I thought!!!
At two and a half weeks old Aria is already looking around at colorful things and at her daddy and I. She is ALWAYS smiling, she thinks it’s hilarious when I flick her bottom lip and she will even poke it out even more and then smile — absolutely adorable. I think that she even loves her Kick n’ Play Piano already, and is starting to kick like crazy in order to hear the music play!
Aria seems to have mostly her daddy’s nose, maybe a little bit of my nose is in there too. She definitely has my eyes and her lips may be a mixture of his and mine ❤ Michael and I also think that the both of us began to look alike on New Years in all of our pictures since then! Hahaha!!! We concluded that I may just be a much smaller, browner version of him. I think she is already a lot like her mommy when she was a baby. She almost never wants to wake up to eat, and she has to have her arms up when she sleeps. So comfy!
I want her to stay little, not forever but for a good while. I am so glad that she is such a happy and healthy baby and I look forward to teaching her so many things, playing with her, taking her on fun trips and watching her SLOWLY grow into an amazing little person.
She is definitely an angel and I love this feeling that I am floating on a cloud in some dream land with her.
Here are some more pictures from her first days in this world! Erica, the midwife that we ended up with (since we just moved and were just being taken care of here at the Naval Hospital by who was available for my last few weeks of pregnancy) was the best! We even became best friends in Labor & Delivery. We joked and laughed in between my crazy contractions and finally found out that both of us were born in the same area of California! No wonder!!! We must have hugged and said our goodbyes a gazillion times before my little family and I went to Postpartum Care
This may be a little random, but if you are expecting definitely be sure to freeze some meals in large disposable casserole dishes so that you have a ton of food to last you a few weeks that you can just pop in the oven while you adjust to your new baby! I made two dishes of my favorite lasagna and two dishes of chilequiles!!! Asparagus is also great for increasing your milk supply, go figure!
No new pictures of chilequiles, we ate them too fast! Click the links for the recipes!!!
